Survived by his wife, Shirley Harmer Shannon; children Jim (Sharon) Shannon, Mary (Mike) Shannon Colson; John (Linda) Shannon, Anne Shannon Jones; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Myers; sister-in-law, Jean (John) Baker; several nieces, nephews, cousins & dear friends.
Becoming a Roman Catholic grounded his life, soul and purpose. He attended mass every week and prayed his Rosary daily.
Al's funeral mass was celebrated on January 17th at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Al will be laid to rest in Sulphur Springs Cemetery in the spring.
